King Power MahaNakhon

Completed in 2016, the King Power MahaNakhon redefined Bangkok's skyline with its distinctive 'pixelated' appearance. Designed by the German architect Ole Scheeren, the building appears as a carved glass curtain wall with a cubist spiral that winds around the structure. At the time of its inauguration, it officially became the tallest building in Thailand, reaching a height of 314 meters, and served as a symbol of the country's rapid modernization and economic growth in the 21st century. The building's unique design is more than just an aesthetic choice; it was intended to create a sense of 'unwrapping' the skyscraper to reveal the life within. This architectural approach allows for protruding balconies and terraces that offer residents and visitors a unique connection to the tropical climate and urban landscape. It houses the ultra-luxury Ritz-Carlton Residences and The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon hotel, blending high-end residential living with world-class hospitality and retail spaces. In 2018, the King Power Group acquired a significant portion of the development, leading to its rebranding as King Power MahaNakhon. The addition of the MahaNakhon SkyWalk on the 78th floor transformed the building into a premier tourist destination. Today, it stands as a cultural landmark in the Sathon business district, hosting various events and offering one of the most thrilling observation deck experiences in Southeast Asia, complete with a massive glass-bottomed floor suspended over the city.
